Wellington Convincing Winners Over Manawatu Wanganui

In the largest single Representative match of the season, Men's, Men's Masters, Men's Under 19's and Women's teams (30 players in all), Wellington have run out worthy winners over the two round match at the Otaki Golf Club.

The Men's team were consistent posting 7 - 3 wins in both the morning and afternoon matches, highlighted by Captain Jonno Cane's two wins at the top of the order and Jonny Dittmer, Cam Elers, Jayden Ford and Thomas Woods also posting a pair of wins.

The Men's Under 19 team were equally consistent and and even more convincing, a pair of 5 - 1 results for a 10 - 2 victory. Captained on the day by Aiden Blackler, the boys were too strong across the team and the day.

In the Men's Masters match, Manawatu Wanganui, who took the Quadrangular title from Wellington last season at Boulcott's Farm, shared the honours in the morning 3 points apiece before the Matt Pegg lead team came home strongly in the afternoon 5 -1 for and overall 8 - 4 victory.

In the Women's match, the powerful top order of Man/Wang, Tara Raj, Brydie Hodge and Lisa Herbert (nee Aldridge) got their team away to a good start leading 5 - 3 after the morning, before captain Anita Harkerss' team from the capital knuckled down and secured a 6 - 2 afternoon result for a 9 - 7 victory. The afternoon's performance was highlighted by Darae Chung being 6 under the card in her win, Gabbie Palado being under the card for her 2nd win of the day and Caitlin Hildyard posting a large victory for her debut win in the black and yellow.

A huge thanks to the Otaki Golf Club and staff who provided their course at short notice, and presented a wonderful mid winter venue.
