2022 Women's Interclub Programme

Vaccination Status

All players who compete in Golf Wellington Interclub competitions, and who are older than 12 years 3 months, must be fully vaccinated as this definition applies. This responsibility rests with the club and team captain. If an ineligible player competes, the team’s points on the day will be removed and additional points and sanction penalties may apply.

As the pandemic and its variants move and change, so may the definition of full vaccination. This definition as it applies to this eligibility clause may also change in real time, any changes being advised to all clubs directly and immediately, and posted on the Golf Wellington Website.

Over and above this requirement, it is each teams responsibility to familiarise themselves with the process required to enter each host facility they play at, allowing time etc to complete this process.

For 2022 Golf Wellington will run Interclub competitions for Women both during the week and in the weekend.  Overall there are more than 450 players taking part, with some playing both midweek and weekend.

The Pennants competitions are played on Mondays. There are separate Silver, singles and teamball 18 hole matchplay off handicap, and Bronze Combo, singles matchplay off handicap, Golf NZ Handicap Indices applying.

There are two 9 Hole Women's competitions, also played in the week. One divison is for players who wish to play 9 holes of Interclub in the week, regardless of membership catergory or handicap index (the Open Grade), and the other division is for players who hold a 9 hole membership. (the 9H Membership Grade).These competions are matchplay with the application of handicap, played over 9 holes.

In the weekends, Division one is  the Lansdowne Trophy, an 18 Hole competition of matchplay singles and teamball. This competition is matchplay played without the application of handicap. The first round is a double round, round robin for the Lansdowne Salver, the second round a knockout competition for the Lansdowne Trophy.

Division two is the Mary Alward/Tuakana Competiton which is matchplay played with the application of handicap, contested over 18 holes, sinlgles and a teamball played within the playing group.Teams of 8 play with quarter, semi and finals after an initial round robin stage.
