Paraparaumu College win the College Sport Wellington Philips Cup

COLLEGE SPORT WELLINGTON GOLF PHILIPS CUP

Congratulations to the Paraparaumu College team of Cooper Wattam and Connor Levesque, who took home the College Sport Wellington Philips Cup for golf played at Shandon Golf Club today.

The Philips Cup competition has been running every Monday since 15th February, across 3 Zones in the district.   The teams consist of 2 players (mixed or single sex) representing their school/College.  The sectional play is a 9 hole stableford competition, and the regional finals are played over 18 holes, and contested by the two top teams from each of the 3 Zones.  The team with the highest combined stableford points is declared the winner.

The matches today were fiercely contested with Paraparaumu just beating the St Patrick's College (Kilbirnie) team (of Aiden Blackler and Christopher Burt) by just 5 stableford points, and all the other teams close behind.

Well done to all the players, who represented their Colleges so well, both in sectional play and today at the Regional Finals.
