Julianne Alvarez Wins NZ Womens U19 Championship

Julianne Alvarez has held on to her overnight lead to win the NZ Womens U19 Championship at Templeton GC in Christchurch today.

Her final round 1 over par 74 was enough to maintain her overnight margin of 3 shots and take out the title for her first time.

Julianne's playing partners, Wenyung Keh and Brydie Hodge fell off the pace, both carding +4 78's. Australian Shelley Shin fired a -2 71, the low round of the day, to take out second place.

Julianne got off to a shaky start with a bogey on the first and a double bogey on the second but steadied the ship with a birdie on the third. Two more birdies and 1 more bogey saw her turn in 1 over par. A solid back 9 with just 1 birdie on 16 and bogey on 17 saw her though to the finish.
