Daniel Hillier & Kevin Smith - finalists in Wellington Sportsperson of the Year Awards

Congratulations to Daniel Hillier and Kevin Smith who are both finalists in the Dominion Post Wellington Sportsperson of the Year Awards.

Daniel was the 2015 Emerging Sportsman of the year, and his ongoing success on both the National and International stage has earned him a finalist spot in the Sportsman of the Year category for 2016.  The criteria for this award is "open to any male who has excelled as an individual or in a team in one or more sports within the achievement period".  Daniel is up against some very tough competition this year.  The other finalists are Steven Adams (Basketball), James Hunter (Rowing), Ma'a Nonu (Rugby), & Nick Willis (Athletics)

Alongside Daniel, Kevin Smith has been named as a finalist in the Coach of the Year category.  This award is "open to any outstancing coach within the achievement period". Kevin is also in prestigious company with fellow finalists being Chris Boyd (Rugby), Matthew Calcott (Football) and Mark Watson (Kayaking).
