Course Maintenance Update - Tuesday 31st 10.00am

" Please see below a brief update .

  1. Turf Maintenance Challenges

You’ll be aware that all golf courses and facilities are now closed for the next four weeks. New Zealand Golf continues to actively lobby the government for an exemption that allows essential maintenance to be undertaken on golf courses during the lock down period. This has been a draw out process and despite continued pressure from us and Sport NZ, we are yet to receive a decision from government. We have enlisted scientific support from the R&A and NZ Sports Turf Institute in addition to sharing the good practice from around the world. The argument is strong however I’m just not sure where this will land. I understand councils were granted exemption last night for maintenance of swimming pools and their grounds which is a good sign. I will update you all as soon as we have a decision. "

Kind regards,

Dean Murphy
