NZ Women's Senior Foursomes Update

Dear ladies We have recently met with the Matamata golf team, in preparation for this years New Zealand Women’s Senior Foursomes – due to be held between the 21 – 24 November.  With regards to the clubhouse and facilities this years tournament will be restricted to 128 players - i.e. The standard 64 pairs. Over the last couple of years we have been able to take more entrants such has been the popularity of the event, and possible with large clubs and clubhouses, but this is NOT possible in 2016.  Accordingly as per the conditions, (and after consultation with New Zealand Golf)  we are making a change as per clause Championship Committee.   In fairness to past players and those that have made airline and other travel arrangements, we will not be balloting out any players by age – instead the tournament closing date will be modified, in that we will waitlist any pair after the maximum field size of 64 pairs is reached. It is not unlikely that reserves and extra players are called upon as often one or two pairs have to withdraw for medical or other personal reasons, so those on a waiting list may indeed still get a placing.   This often happens. This email is being sent out to the immediate past players as a first advice – so please if you are looking to enter – please do so now, online via www.parnz.co.nz to avoid disappointment.   This email has also been copied to all districts.  At the time of writing we have places for 10 more pairs / 20 players, with subsequent entries in order of application being held on a waiting list. We wish all pairs the very best for this popular tournament that is being held in the ‘Hobbiton’ capital and trust that you will appreciate this decision and change.  See you there! Kind regards Denise Denise LangdonDirector
