Jayden Ford putting NZ Juniors on world stage!

While some Juniors are chilling out and enjoying a few weeks off from school, Jayden Ford has been working hard over in the USA competing in the Junior World Age Group Championship series.

Jayden (supported by family) travelled across the globe to take part in the USA's " Best 3 Weeks in Junior Golf" - starting with the 9th Annual FCG International, then the prestigious IMG Junior World Championship, and finally the FCG World Championship presented by Callaway Golf. 

The week of 4th - 8th July, saw Jayden playing at St Marks Golf Club, competing for in the FCG International.  In what can only be described as "a tough day at the office", Jayden managed to hold off two local Californian players (Ian Maspat & Shea Lague) to win the U12 Age Group.  For his success Jayden was presented with a trophy that was almost as big as he is!

A week later (12th - 15th July), Jayden was back at it, competing at Torrey Pines in the IMG Junior World Championship.  Against a much bigger field (143 players in total) Jayden finished in a tie for 22nd.

And just this week (18th - 20th July) Jayden was back in the winners circle, having competed (and conquered) the Westin Mission Hills Gary Player course, as part of the FCG World Championship. Jayden finished the three day tournament ten under, to win by seven.  While the trophy wasnt quite as big as the first one, it is no doubt treasured just the same!

I have it on good advice (thanks Izzy), that while the two cups are required to stay in the US of A, Jayden does get to bring home two smaller trophies, as well as a couple of great golf bags.  Mum & Dad may need to book extra baggage allowance!

Jayden & the family get to relax for a week, in the Big Apple, before they head to Pinehurst for the final tournament - The USKIDS World Championship.
